Some time during the next day to two, send your host a little note thanking him again for the tea party. Write your note by hand and be as specific as possible. You can comment on any aspect of the tea party that you enjoyed—the food, the environment or the company. Write your note in such a way that your host will feel truly appreciated. After all, simple kindness is the essence of afternoon tea.
