Tea and lemon are naturally compatible, and this recipe will make a gallon of refreshing Lemonade Iced Tea. This is the perfect beverage if you are planning Afternoon Tea for a large gathering. You can make this easy Lemonade Iced Tea a day in advance and even double the recipe if you are expecting lots of guests. It is good for a more informal tea party where children may be present, such as our August Family Reunion Tea.
In a large cooking pot, bring 1 gallon of water to a boil. Add 8 tea bags (use herbal tea if children will be present,) and ½ cup of sugar. Remove from the heat and steep the tea for 2 hours at room temperature. Discard the tea bags and stir in 1 (6-ounce) can of frozen lemonade concentrate. Refrigerate. When ready to serve, pour into 2 (half-gallon) pitchers and serve with ice cubes.
