Teacarts are portable little tables on wheels. They can be used to transport the food, teapots, dishes and other tea accouterments from the kitchen to the room where Afternoon Tea is being served. Most teacarts have multiple levels of serving space. Thus, on a three-level teacart, the tea set on its silver tray could be placed on the top level, the plates, silverware and napkins on the second level and the tea sandwiches on the third level. The host can visualize in advance how he wishes to use the teacart and how the food will be displayed. Additional spaces, such as a low table or a buffet will usually be necessary to serve all of the items needed for Afternoon Tea, but a teacart can be a charming, useful and attractive accessory.
